So, You Wanna Coach a 2:26 Marathoner???

I found this to be a pretty cool idea, so I thought I would post it here. Check out Tim Budic's latest blog entry. The basics are, Tim, who ran sub-2:27 in Columbus last fall, is going to run the National Marathon in Washington DC this coming March. Between now and December 18th, he will be accepting training programs from anyone who wants to submit one to him. He will post the details of each of the plans on his blog, and then readers of the blog will vote on which plan he follows. The goal is to run sub-2:25. If your plan wins the contest and then Tim runs his goal, you get paid at least $250, increasing by $100 for every 30 seconds he runs faster than the goal of 2:24:59.

A fellow DIII runner, I've been following Tim's blog since the days of runinsight.com, and I think this is a pretty wild idea. It's really a win-win situation for everyone and should be fun to follow. I look forward to seeing the results, as well as all the different training plans. I always like looking at others' ideas, because you never know when you'll find a nugget or two of information to help your own training.

Anyway, all is well here after a nice Thanksgiving, and after taking my third deer out of the woods, I'm done with that season and ready for the Christmas season! I'm also ready to get down to business with training and really looking forward to resuming that here soon.
