Busy week so far so just now getting this posted. This past week was the first one in a long, long time that has actually exceeded expectations. After struggling along with a couple of 20 mile weeks, I figured if I managed to hold together and get 25-30 that would be a victory. Instead, I almost got 35, and that was with a day off. Not much of it was completely pain free, but I definitely made more and more progress in that respect as the week went on. All I can say is it was progress….FINALLY! Certainly not out of the woods or getting too excited yet though.

As for the details, there’s not much to report. Each day was pretty much the same, just me doing what I felt like doing. Wednesday was supposed to be a cut-back day, but I was feeling good, so I decided to do a full run. As a result, I wound up not taking any “easier” day all week, so I took the day off on Sunday. I’ll have to admit, it wasn’t the easiest thing for me to do, but I did it, not because I had to or needed to, but because I knew it would do me good and was the smart thing to do. That just might be a first for me – ha, ha.

Anyway, I’ll look to hit 40-45 miles this week depending on how things go. Additionally, if I’m feeling good, I’d like to throw in a few very light strides towards the end of a couple runs. My stride still feels a little awkward and not very smooth, and I think a few strides would really help with that. Just have to be careful not to do too much, too fast, too soon. Still taking it one day at a time and hoping for the best. On I roam!
