This week went well, although it was a little odd since I did my long run on Saturday instead of Sunday. That meant reworking the normal schedule a bit, which in turn led to only one real workout for the week, the Mono Fartlek on Thursday. Other than that, it was pretty much just straight running, which isn't necessarily a bad thing at this point in time. I'm still struggling just a touch getting my legs back under me, but this was the third week in a row where I've run more than the past week and felt better doing it, and that's definitely a good sign.

As far as the details go, Wednesday consisted of some light strides to help prep the legs for Thursday's workout. Unfortunately that workout turned out to be in a cold rain, which definitely limited the quality. The effort was mostly there, but the result was about the slowest I've ever done for this particular fartlek, which is named after Australian distance runner Steve Moneghetti and is composed of 2X90 sec, 4X60 sec, 4X30 sec, and 4X15 sec, all with equal, float (meaning not a jog) recoveries. The only other run worthy of mention for the week was the long run on Saturday. That one can be described with three words: cold, windy, and hilly,  but in spite of the conditions and terrain, Andrew, Patrick Woodford, and I got in a solid effort with most of the miles under 7 min pace (the exceptions being those where the wind felt like we were running into a hurricane).

I'm honestly not sure what training will look like this coming week. I'll squeeze in runs as I can on Monday and Tuesday then take it from there. Looks like it could be a tough one weather-wise, but so goes it this time of year. Can't use that as an excuse. Merry Christmas, everyone!
