Soooooooo, that was a bit much - ha, ha. I realized after Thursday's run that I had already exceeded my weekly total for either of the previous two weeks then realized just before my "long" run that I was going to exceed the total of the last two weeks combined. As I said during the run this morning, I think I broke the Runner's World 10% rule. Oops.
At any rate, all in all a very good week that went much better than expected. I really had very little in the way of aches, pains, or soreness, so I'll definitely take it. This morning's 13 miler was my longest single run since September 7th, and I handled it surprisingly well also. I figured the last 15-20 min would be pretty rough, but I felt as good (maybe even better) towards the end as I did early. Of course I could have done without the single digit wind chill, but thankfully Dave and Jim joined me for the fun and helped the time pass faster. I guess it's like they say: misery loves company.
This coming week will be more of the same. I just want to get out and run each day and get my legs good and under me. I hope to start throwing in some workouts after that (progression runs and tempos). I really hope I can continue to feel like I did this week. It was very nice to just get out and run and not have my mind on some part of my body that was bothering me. I'm extremely out of shape at the moment, but if I can continue feeling and training like this, it'll all come together sooner than later.
