Finally, a week without any setbacks! Everything went basically according to plan. If anything I wound up with a few more miles than I figured I would, something I’m ok with based on the way I felt. I’m still not quite 100%, but I’m close and definitely moving in the right direction. My fitness is also moving in the right direction, but it's not even on the chart yet so I can't really judge the progress there. Comparing my heart rate data to my pace is a pretty cruel joke right now, but it is what it is and I'm just gonna have to be patient while things come around.

I don’t have a lot of comments on specific runs. We did spend the weekend in Atlanta (we were there for the VA Tech/Alabama game) and Saturday and Sunday’s runs were down there. I got to run along the Chattahoochee River both days, and let me tell you, the running scene in Atlanta is WAY different than it is around here. I literally passed hundreds of people Sunday morning, and that’s no exaggeration whatsoever. It was almost like a road race. I couldn’t believe how many people were out running and walking. It kept me moving too. Mile 10 of the Sunday run was a 6:33, sadly the fastest I’ve run in quite a while. The trails down there are great too. Nice and smooth and very wide (they have to be to accommodate all the people).

Anyway, that’s about it. Like I said, my plan is to get my legs fully under me over the course of this month so I can start a nice base phase in October and I’d say I’m right on schedule. I’m certainly a long way from being fit, but the goal is slow, steady progress and that’s exactly what I have going on right now. Onward!
