I’ve put this up in a couple places already, but I just had to post this pic on my blog as well. As you can see, Kaitlyn is a natural to be a future track and field official. She just loves to ring the bell (seen here announcing the final lap of the women’s DMR this past weekend), so I’ve tried to let her do it at least once every meet she’s been at, to the point where she actually talks about doing it and asks to do so. Even funnier, we were watching a meet on television, and she pretended to ring the bell for the runners. What was surprising to me is she actually waited until they hit the start/finish line to do it, showing she truly has the concept down. Funny stuff!
Quick running update. Don’t know if it was the new shoes, stretching/rehab I’ve been doing, or what (probably a combination of things), but last night was my best run since starting back. I put in 5 miles in Salem and kept waiting for my knee to start hurting, but it never did. Between that and the nice weather (first run in shorts this year), it was a good run. I’d almost forgotten what it was like to have a good one. Hopefully it was the first of many to come!
