'Tis the Season

As snow comes down for the first time this season, I thought I'd post this year's Santa photo. As you can tell, Kaitlyn had no desire to sit on Santa's lap by herself, so whereas mommy got her picture made with Santa last year, this year it was daddy's turn. You can probably also observe that I had no plans to be in a photo that day, hence the scruff on my face. Adding to the humor of the day was the fact that the Roanoke Times was there doing an article on how different malls were taking precautions with their Santas to prevent the spread of H1N1. They took some photos of us for the article and got a quote from me. Fortunately I didn't make the paper, although a photo of Kaitlyn did wind up in the Covington newspaper when the same article was run there. I guess they must be affiliated with the Roanoke Times in some manner or another because we were very surprised when someone sent us the paper with Kaitlyn's name and picture (crying, of course) in it. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this Christmas season even more than normal. Kaitlyn is really starting to get into it, including learning some songs and watching some of the traditional holiday cartoons, so it's going to be extra fun this year.
